Cafod’s programme in Colombia supports a range of Catholic projects
working in the area of human rights, community development, and
peace and reconciliation. These projects are located in Bogotá and
in the southern part of the country, Valle del Cauca and Caquetá.
Cafod is part of the network of Caritas agencies, catholic relief
organisations across the world.

Christian Aid UK/ Ireland
Christian Aid works with 14 partner which support marginalised,
indigenous and Afro-Colombian people, strengthening the lobbying
skills of local organisations. These projects are located around
Bogotá, Quibdó, Barrancabermeja, the Catatumbo region, and Medellín.
Christian Aid has an office in Colombia.

Oxfam GB
Oxfam GB has been working in Colombia for more than 20 years, and
has 3 programme offices in-country.
The
programme focuses on: food
security and the development of access to markets for small
producers, protection of vulnerable communities, and support to the
participation of social organisations and movements in public
policy. Projects range from humanitarian assistance to the
displaced, to campaigning at a regional and global level on trade
justice. Oxfam GB is part of the Oxfam International network.

Save the Children UK
Save the Children UK works with partner organisations across
Colombia to stop violence against children through campaigns,
education and training, protection, and support for ex-child
soldiers. The programme works to reduce harmful child labour,
promote sexual health and HIV/AIDS prevention, and access to
quality, relevant education. The programme also incorporates
research into the impact of economic policies and water
privatisation on children.

Trócaire
The official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in
Ireland, Trócaire’s programme in Colombia incorporates three key
strands: human rights, building democracy, and promoting sustainable
rural development. They support several organisations of the
Catholic Church in Caquetá. Trócaire is part of the network of
Caritas agencies, catholic relief organisations across the world.

Amnesty International
Amnesty International’s (AI) Colombia research team has been
particularly concerned with ensuring that all armed actors adhere to
international human rights and humanitarian law, and has campaigned
hard against impunity and in favour of a legal framework for
demobilising armed actors that respects the rights of victims to
truth, justice and reparation.

Peace Brigades International (PBI) - Colombia project.
PBI maintains international accompaniment teams in areas of conflict at the
request of local organisations. The teams protect the political
space of human rights defenders who suffer repression due to their
non-violent work for human rights. The Colombia project of PBI
operates four sub-teams in Barrancabermeja, Bogotá, Urabá, and Medellín.
