Join in a conversation with the Colombian Human Rights Defender Martha Márquez, director of the Centre for Research and Popular Education (CINEP)/Programme for Peace, discussing what “Paz Total” means for Colombia.

For the first time Colombians elected a left-wing government and a black Vice President. Martha will discuss what “Paz Total” (Total Peace) will mean for Colombia and what opportunities this creates for the full implementation of the Peace Accord, and to discuss what obstacles are likely to be encounter.

CINEP is one of the official organisations monitoring the work of the Comisión de Seguimiento, Impulso y Verificación a la Implementación del Acuerdo Final (CSIVI). This commission is made up of Colombian Government Representatives and Former FARC Combatants involved in implementation of the agreements in the 2016 Peace Accord.

As well as working at the grassroots supporting excluded and marginalised communities. CINEP seeks to bring about social change and influence public policy to ensure a human rights perspective and to address poverty.

CINEP undertakes the systematic production of information with investigative rigor in order to produce a solid analysis of the Colombian reality.
