ABColombia expresses its profound concern over the escalation of violence in the Nasa indigenous territories in Northern Cauca, which led to the displacement of 253 families between 8 and 13 December 2017.
As Christmas approaches, ABColombia partners in Colombia are becoming increasingly concerned, since this is traditionally the time of the year when a spike in violence can occur. Urgent prevention measures by the Colombian Government are essential, alongside a longer-term approach of dismantling the neo-paramilitary structures responsible for the violence against communities and Human Rights Defenders.
